FC Badawy Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
FC Badawy is an app for running amateur soccer groups: seasons, events, voting and spot requests. It is published by Zeiad Badawy ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who can see it, where it is kept and how long, and what you can do about it.
Questions or requests: fcbadawy@gmail.com.
The short version
- We collect what a soccer group needs to run: who you are, how to reach you, and what you do in your group (votes, spot requests, attendance, fees).
- Your group's members see your name and photo. Your email and phone number are seen only by your group's admins and moderators.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell your information.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile.
What we collect
When you register
- Your first and last name, email address and phone number.
- A profile photo, taken with the camera or chosen from your photos. It is required, so the people you play with know who you are. The app only reads the one photo you pick.
- A password. We never see it: it is stored as a one-way hash.
When you use the app
- Your group membership and role, requests to join or leave a group, and who invited you.
- Your votes on events, spot and absence requests, attendance (on time, late, no-show), and the teams and results admins record.
- Spot fees and late fees owed and paid, as recorded by your group's admins. The app does not process payments and never sees card or bank details.
- Your acceptance of the Terms of Use and of your group's rules, with the date.
- Your notification settings, and requests to change your name, phone, photo or email.
- Problem reports you send from the app, with the screen you were on, the app version and your phone's platform (Android or iOS).
Automatically
- A push notification token for your device, if you allow notifications.
- The app version you run and your platform, so we know when everyone has updated.
- Crash and error reports (see Sentry below): what went wrong in the app, your device model, operating system and app version, and your account's internal ID. Email addresses and phone numbers are removed from these reports before they are sent, and your IP address is not sent.
What stays on your phone
- Your sign-in session (in the phone's secure storage), your Terms of Use answer, and unsaved drafts.
- Pictures of team sheets that admins import are read on the phone itself. They are never uploaded.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing activity or advertising identifiers.
Why we use it
- To run your group: events, voting, spot requests, attendance, teams, results and fees.
- To let your group's admins and moderators decide who joins, and contact members when needed.
- To send you notifications and emails about your group's events, which you can turn off, by kind or entirely, in Profile → Notification Settings.
- To keep your account secure: sign-in, emailed codes, and password changes.
- To find and fix problems in the app.
Who can see your information
- Members of your group see your name, your photo and what you do in the group's events (votes, requests, attendance, teams, results).
- Your group's admins and moderators also see your email and phone number, and decide on your requests. Admins also see fees owed and paid. Members can see the email and phone of admins who choose to share theirs.
- Nobody outside your group sees anything about you, apart from the group's name when you join with an invite code.
- Service providers that run parts of the app for us, listed below. They process your information only to provide their service.
We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it for advertising.
Service providers and where your data is kept
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and photo storage. Everything in "What we collect", except crash reports. | Canada (Central) |
| Sentry | Crash and error reports | United States |
| Expo (650 Industries) | Delivering push notifications and app updates | United States |
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Push notifications to Android phones | Global |
| Apple (Push Notification service) | Push notifications to iPhones | Global |
| Google (Gmail) | Sending emails: sign-up and sign-in codes, event notifications | Global |
Profile photos are kept in private storage. The app shows them through links that expire after an hour.
How long we keep it
- Your account, until you delete it.
- Deleted accounts: deletion takes effect 30 days after you ask, and you can cancel it by signing in before then. After that, your name, email, phone number and photo are removed, along with your notifications and devices. Your past votes, requests, attendance, fees and results stay in your group's history under a numbered name such as "Deleted Account #12", so the group's records stay correct.
- Unfinished sign-ups (an emailed code that was never entered) are deleted after 24 hours.
- Unused invite codes are deleted after 48 hours. Used ones are kept as the record of who invited whom.
- Problem reports are kept until the problem is dealt with.
- Crash reports are kept by Sentry for a limited period, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct: your details are on Profile. Changes to your name, phone, photo or email may need an admin's approval while you are in a group.
- Notifications: turn push notifications and emails off, entirely or by kind, in Profile → Notification Settings.
- Delete: Profile → Delete Account. If you are in a group, you leave it at once.
- Anything else (a copy of your information, a correction you cannot make yourself, or a question about this policy): write to fcbadawy@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.
Security
Your connection to our servers is encrypted. Your sign-in session is kept in your phone's secure storage. Access to every piece of information is checked on our servers, so the app can only read what you are allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it.
Children
FC Badawy is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian to use the app. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
